students to join the 1st Legacy Awards
and submit their bright ideas by September 30 to help build a better future.
The 1st
Lockton Philippines Legacy Awards for the Environment—a first of its kind
action research-based contest open to all Filipino college students in the
country—has extended its deadlines to accommodate the call from universities
across the Philippines.
The deadline
of application is now on September
30, while the submission of
entries is on October 30, 2019.
This early, contest
organizers are honored to have received applications from different
universities and colleges from all over the country. These include De La Salle University, Manila, De La Salle College of Saint Benilde, San Sebastian College Recoletos, Technological Institute of the
Philippines, Manila Technological
Institute of the Philippines Quezon City, University of the East, St. Scholastica’s College Manila, Manila Adventist College, Mapua University, San Beda College
Alabang, De La Salle Dasmarinas, Saint
Louis University, Bataan
Peninsula State University, Philippine
Normal University, Cebu Normal University, Colegio de San Lorenzo Ruiz de
Manila, and Xavier University-Ateneo de Cagayan.
Lockton
Philippines, led by its President and CEO, Victorio C. Valledor, one of
the country’s leading insurance and risk management providers, launched the 1st
Lockton Philippines Legacy Awards in celebration of its 25th
anniversary.
Winning entries
will be announced in November, with the possibility of collaborating with
partner companies to have the proposals implemented. The awards program is
selecting winners from Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, and special award
categories alongside the over-all Grand Prize to encourage participation of
more schools outside the metro. Cash prizes up to Php1M are to be
awarded to the winning student groups, faculty advisors, and schools.
Participating
groups are required to submit an evaluative, analytical, investigative action
research that suggests better practices for business to operate. The Legacy Awards
is open to teams of 3-5 college students, currently enrolled in a BA/BS program
in any Philippine tertiary education institution. Each team is required to have
one faculty adviser who is duly recognized by their school.
