Call for Papers for First Lockton Legacy Awards for Best Student Action Papers on the Environment

Application deadline is 31 July 2019; Paper deadline is 2 September 2019

The 1st Lockton Philippines Legacy Awards recognizes research initiatives that demonstrate
responsible and efficient use of resources, bringing about a change in the way people look
at protecting the environment.

Who can join?

* The contest is open to groups made up of 3-5 college students. * Students must be aged 17-24 at the time of submission * Students must be Filipino citizens who are currently enrolled in a BA/BS program in a
Philippine tertiary education institution

* The team must have one Faculty Advisor who is duly recognized by their school

What should they submit?

* Action Research-based or research that outlines ways an organization or community can
utilize its resources to be kinder to the environment.

* Submissions should be based on actual cases found in existing communities or organizations.
* Submissions can either focus on pollution prevention or product stewardship.

What is the submission format?

* Abstract * Purpose and Rationale * Context * Implementation Plan * Expected Impact of the Initiative * Conclusion

How to submit?

* Fill out the 1st Lockton Philippines Legacy Awards Application Form provided in the Entry Kit.

* Submit the Application Form on July 31, 2019.

* Send a Zip file (.zip) containing PDF copies of the following to legacy.awards@lockton.ph.com:

- A one-page letter with the school’s letterhead from the Faculty Adviser stating that the students
wrote the research and that it is unpublished.

- Two soft copies of the research paper.

* Deadline for submission is September 2, 2019.

* The awarding ceremony will be in October.

What are the prizes?

* Overall Grand Prize Winner

Php 150,000 and Trophy for the Student Group Php 50,000 for the Faculty Advisor Php 100,000 and Trophy for the School

* Luzon Winner

Php 75,000 and Trophy for the Student Group Php 25,000 for the Faculty Advisor Php 50,000 and Trophy for the School

* Visayas Winner

Php 75,000 and Trophy for the Student Group Php 25,000 for the Faculty Advisor Php 50,000 and Trophy for the School

* Mindanao Winner

Php 75,000 and Trophy for the Student Group Php 25,000 for the Faculty Advisor Php 50,000 and Trophy for the School * Participating teams will also get the chance to win special awards:

for an Indigenous Community and the Environment
